I took my one year old Goldendoodle, Foodie, to the groomer yesterday for a bath. When the groomer gave her back to me she said my dog has to be shaved because of the matting. She wasn't matted when I took her in. Maybe a couple small mats and some tangles but most of her is now mats on mats. What could have happened for a dog to get a bath and come out all knotted. I'm not having her shaved at this point and I'm trying to get the mats out with some success. However, I'm concerned with irritating Foodie's skin. The groomer did shave a lot of her belly and private areas but I'm able to untangle a lot of mats that she was shaving off and now I'm going shopping for different brushes and hope I find someone in one of these pet stores that knows about such matters.
