I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on free feeding. At the kennel where I got Gavin, the breeder said that they raise their doods as free feeders. They also breed goldens, but she said that that breed generally gorge and cannot be free fed. I give Gavin his full daily allowance in the morning (after he has been walked and after I have had my breakfast). He does not gorge but picks away at his food when he is hungry. He does not have any dominance issues. His eliminations are not like clockwork, but he goes about four times per day. Anyone else free feed? It is successful? Any drawbacks?
