My Sweet Pea- Abbey

I personally have always gotten my dogs as rescues from pounds or rescues themselves as well as my most recent adopted addition- a goldendoodle being from a rescue.

Abbey's Story:

Abbey{ my Goldendoodle} was at large with her 2 sibling and her mom up north- walkerton/Ripley area.

The pound keeper up there{ not dog friendly } was going to have them Euth'd after the 72 manditory holding time. The rescue i assist " Adopt-a-pet/ Petrescue" found out... pulled all four as well as a collie X... have them all vetted,spayed/neutered,vac's groomed and boarded until they could be placed in foster. Others in the area were aware of a Minnonite Pupp-mill breeder that was the only one in the area that had this breed- so the sumption is that they came from there. They were in horrible condition.. not only their coats, but also the weights were very low.

I was lucky to have been able to take in "Abbey" .. {my 3 foster dog}. She absolutley knew nothing.. not house trained, no leash expereince, no socilaization with other dogs, people, cats... even the everyday sounds in our home. But she has made leaps and bounds.... and quickly found a place in our hearts and home.
She loves people although is very timid and extremely reserved, refusing to give others eye contact, loves our cats, and is getting more confidence in all the various experiences we provide for her.

I got her when she was 5 mnths old.. she is now 8 mnths.

This breed is awesome!!! So even tempered, loving, easy going.A definate family dog!

Alternately I have owned various breeds for my own dogs as well as the ones that i have rescued and fostered and have found that no matter the breed they all are willing to give the love and companionship they so rightly deserve back. Ultimatley they all have found that special place in my heart and home.
