I have a two year old Jack Russell and wanted another dog to keep her company. I wanted a larger, more mellow dog so I decided to look for a Goldendoodle. That led me to Mr. Big; not sure what the technical term is but he's medium sized at 32 pounds (now 11 months old). I'm very pleased with Mr. Big; he is definitely easy going and gets along great with the JRT, our cat, and humans, too.
My biggest concern right now is grooming. Mr. Big has a curlier coat, more poodlie I suppose. I've had him since he was four months old and haven't had him professionally groomed yet, though he has an appointment in a couple of weeks. I've bathed him and kept him 'mat free' but don't really like the idea of having him clipped, preferring the natural look.
I'll look to all of you for some advice on the grooming. I've read alot of really negative stuff on line about GDs from groomers. Oh well..we'll see.
